A very nice piece overall, the warm colors in the backgroung and the nice warm gold necklace compliment eachother very well, the fact that the necklace isn't completely strait up is good, it looks a though someone is actually holding it, nice job! your work is very, and truly amazing, another thing that i really like about this picture is the light shining on the far upper left hand side of the piece of jewlery. It is such a wonderful photo, I will put it in my favorites, hands down, i'm so sorry but i am running out og ideas to write about.
Time Turners always look beautiful, but this photo makes it even better. When I first saw it,a story appeared in my mind.A story where everything is burning and somebody uses this time turner to scape and change what have happened. This pic makes me imagine, just as Harry Potter does.It is not a simple picture,It can even be a way to Hogwarts.I have seen other Time turner's pics in Deviantart, but this is probably the best one. Also the technique is perfect. You can see every detail of it,and with this pendant it can be really important, because it has more beauty in it than people imagine. And I'm aslo insanely obsessed with Harry Potter >w< Nice job!
Thanks. I personally like the grain; I think it makes the photo look more rustic. I believe I actually intensified it so that the necklace stood out even more from the background.

Yep! I would prefer the actual focal point to have a different texture than the background - especially in this piece. It draws your eye to the glossier portion of the photo - which is exactly where I want people to look. I don't want the background to be of more importance than the object, I want it to stick out. I think it's quite nice. It's my personal favorite photo, and it has a daily deviation, so hurray for grain. Thanks for the comment!
It's interesting to hear from someone else's point of view I guess I play with sharpness vs very blurry and especially grainless backgrounds to make something stand out, but you have used another technique. It's interesting - and I'm glad you got a DD for it
